Hello families, We had a busy week in room 11! Make sure to read my last post for more information about social skills we discussed and some of our learning about Orange Shirt Day. Let's start there!! Social Studies This week we learned all about Orange Shirt Day and residential schools. We had some great discussions as a class, watched some videos and read some stories about Orange Shirt Day. Ms. Gierl and Ms. Mumford's grade 4/5 classes prepared a virtual sharing assembly to help teach us more. We discussed what school should feel like and how we can make sure we are creating a kind and safe space for all students in our school. Science This week we finished up our shades and tints ice cream cones! We also continued talking about the fall season and students drew and wrote about their favourite things about fall! Math In math we have been working on some number sense. We are starting with reviewing our numbers from 5-10 and different ways to represent them. Students ...
