Hello families, This week for our 30 by 30 challenge, we did lots of fun activities outside! We made our names out of nature, did a scavenger hunt, learned about texture and did some rubbings, enjoying playing and being in the sun, and helped our older buddies design a garden for their Minecraft challenge. In math, we have been working with Fact Families. These are three numbers that are related and create 2 addition and 2 subtraction problems. We used the unifix cubes to help model the equations. We started with all of the numbers provided in the fact family, and then moved on to determining the missing number from the fact family. This week we have also been talking about the elements of a story. We watched a great story called "The Panda Problem" and students wrote and/drew about the characters, setting, problem and solution.
