April 7-11
Hello families, We had an exciting week in room 11! On Monday, students were surprised with some animals eggs. We had fun this week learning about oviparous animals, using clues to try to figure out what types of eggs we have, and eventually learned that the eggs belonged to birds. We have three different types of bird eggs in our grade 1/2 classes. Our eggs are chick eggs! We also have duck and geese eggs! Now that we know they are chicks, we will be able to learn how the eggs are developing each day. We also learned how to candle the eggs to see if anything is growing. We received all of these eggs from a company called Nanny McCluckins and they will be returned there after they hatch. Chicken eggs take 21 days to incubate and we are expecting them to hatch around Monday, April 28th. We put stars next to the ones we thought might actually be in the incubator!
