December 19-22
Hello families,
We made it to winter break! Woohoo!
This week we had some fun with holiday graphing and other winter math activities. We started learning about snowflakes and students started on a KWL chart to share what they know about snowflakes already, and what they are wondering about snowflakes. We will continue this in the new year! We enjoyed making some snowflake cards for Christmas time and a little gift for families! I usually make ornaments for students for Christmas but unfortunately didn't get to it this year. My older brother is going traveling in Asia for a year and leaves today so December has been all about spending as much time with my family as possible! So hopefully my little gift for students this year will suffice!
We loved all of the spirit days this week, especially Grinch Day! We also did some caroling as a full school and enjoyed lots of PE activities in the classroom since it was too cold to go outside and our gym is closed because our floor is getting replaced.
This year we have had to say a couple of tough goodbyes! First we said goodbye to our educational assistant Ms. Read, then we said goodbye to our lunchroom supervisor, Ms. Elizabeth, and now we are saying goodbye to Mrs. Brady who works in the office and learning commons. She helps our school in so many ways and we are very sad to say goodbye! Thank you Mrs. Brady!
Today I sent home a Holiday Challenge! Students are invited to complete as many of the challenges as possible. Students who completed 25 or more of the challenges will be able to participate in a board game afternoon in the new year!
I hope you all have a restful winter break and we will see you back at school on January 9th! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
