February 18-27
Hello families!
It's been awhile...
Ms. G (and Ms. Kassam who used to teach at LBS) and I had a great time at the Reading For The Love Of It conference in Toronto. A highlight was meeting author, Melanie Watt! Here are some photos!
Here is a recap of the last little while!
On the 18th we had fun celebrating the 100th day of school! Students enjoyed participating in an estimating activity! Ask your child how many of each item were in the jars.
In literacy, students have been continuing to learn about digraphs. Last week students worked on the wh and ph sounds and this week we learned ng and nk. We also learned how to make an acrostic poem for Pink Shirt Day using the word "kindness."
Words for next week (red list is not from the high-frequency list but is working on the sh digraph!):
In social studies, students began learning about urban and rural communities!
In science, students learned about the parts of the ear and wrote about their favourite sound.
