Hello families,  We made it through the last full week of school - I can't believe it! This week we had lots of fun with our buddy class. We continued our animal research work, shared our the stories each student wrote, enjoyed checking out the forts they made in their classroom, and went for a community walk. This week we also celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day and had our first in-person assembly in a very long time. We enjoyed being outside with the whole school for a sit spot and continued to learn about the 7 Sacred Teachings. On Friday we did our best to get through Sports Day despite the weather! We had to create a team name for a class and ended up going with the Room 11 Super Sabes since we recently learned how the sabe represents honesty. On Friday the students enjoyed some free choice time together and enjoyed building and creating things together.  Next week we will have two more days of school! We are looking forward to finishing up our learning about the Seven

Sports Day!

Sports Day at LBS We are so excited to be able to host a Lake Bonavista School Sports Day in 2022! Sports Day will be taking place on Friday, June 24 from 8:30am-12:15am. On this day, students will begin in the gymnasium for a pep rally and then travel with their class and their neighbouring class outside to participate in group activities and games. Parent Council has generously provided healthy snacks all students to enjoy for the end of the day!   Here are some things to keep in mind: Wear athletic clothing and shoes Pack a water bottle and snack (we will have two snacks this day) Wear sunscreen and bug spray (apply in the morning!) Despite the forecasted rain, we will be moving forward with Sports Day unless there are thunderstorms, please dress accordingly   Thanks for your support! Active Living Committee

Report cards will be available online at the end of next week. Please note that if your child's grades did not increase, that does not mean they have shown improvement. If your child is receiving the same grade, it means they were able to keep up with the increase in demand and expectations that come with approaching the end of grade 1.  End of Year Wrap-Up If your child will be ending the school year prior to Tuesday, June 28th, please send me an email to let me know. On the last day of school for your child, please send a reusable or plastic bag so they can bring home their workbooks and other belongings.  In math we have been working on some word problems and showing our thinking with pictures, words and numbers. We also did some review of patterns.  Once the rain finally subsided, we wen
