Hello families, Here's our weekly update! Our MRU student teacher, Ms. Yip, has begun teaching students about cycles and patterns in math. Students started by learning what a cycle is, and explored the season cycle, the day and night cycle, and life cycles. Students were also introduced to repeating patterns. They had to identify the core of patterns and enjoyed creating their own patterns with different building materials. We will be continuing to learn about patterns after the fall break! In literacy, we learned a bit about plural and singular nouns. We learned that when we add an -s to the end of a word it sometimes makes the /s/ sound (cats) and sometimes makes the /z/ sound (bags). We also reviewed the letter K with our character Kimmy Kangaroo. During Daily LA, students on the word work station are working with Ms. Yip and students at the teacher table are continuing to work with me.
