Wednesday

Hello everyone!

During work period today we continued to work on our spelling, March break writing and Easter subtraction math. We also spent some time doing Math Daily 3 where students were either doing math on their on, with a partner or with technology. A small group also worked with me on skip counting! In Grade 1, students are expected to be able to skip count by 2 to 20, and 5s and 10s to 100. In Grade 2, students are expected to count by 2s to 100 forwards and backwards, 5s and 10s backwards from 100, and 10s forward starting from any number between 1-9 (ie. 3, 13, 23...) to 100. These are things you can practice even in the car driving to and from school!

In the afternoon we had music and guest reader. We also worked on a partner activity where we sorted items into compostable, recyclable, garbage, or refundables. We will continue talking about this tomorrow!

Forms for our Ralph Klein trip will be sent home approximately a week before the trip (April 24th). However, we are still looking for volunteers! Please send me an email if you'd like to join us for this full day field trip! We will still have 1 more field trip to Fish Creek Park this year (probably in June) and will be starting swimming on May 17th and will be needing volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a short period of the day to help supervise students in the change room. I do not have times yet for this but thought I would throw it out there for you to start thinking about!

Please remember that Scholastic book orders for April are due on Monday, April 9th!

Have a great night!
