Thursday

Hello everyone,

Today we had Explore and Play and started our day off with Good Morning Yoga. Students then went to music. During snack we watched a video about 2-D shapes and then we had guest reader. We went outside for PE and during work period we worked on our weekly words, pattern snakes, and dream books. If students were all done their "must-dos," I gave them a shape pattern review/intro to number patterns task as an assessment to see if we are ready to move on to patterns in numbers.

In the afternoon, we had our literacy groups and talked about when to use capital letters and got together with our buddy class to finish up our maps of the school. Tomorrow we will have a busy day - in the morning we will be joined by Ms. Grant to continue working on our Salvador Dali art and we will have Alien Inline.

Swimming
We are beginning to plan for our spring swimming sessions at the Trico Centre. The schedule is not finalized however it looks like we will be leaving the school at 1:20pm and returning at 2:30pm. We are always looking for volunteers to help supervise in the change rooms. We will be swimming with Miss Ireland's class so her and I will be available to supervise the girls change room. We could always use more female volunteers but we will definitely be needing some male volunteers. Without someone to supervise the boys change room, we would be unable to go swimming. Here are the dates for swimming. Please let me know if you would be interested in volunteering and I will let you know if the times change.

  • Thursday, April 25th
  • Tuesday, April 30th
  • Thursday, May 2nd
  • Tuesday, May 7th
  • Thursday, May 9th
  • Tuesday, May 14th
Upcoming Dates
On Wednesday, May 15th we will have our rescheduled field trip to the Arts Commons. This is an all day field trip and we will be leaving the school around 9am and returning around 2:30. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer!

Please also note that we are planning the Sharing Assembly for rooms 6, 12 and 13 on Friday, May 31st at 11am. All families are welcome to attend.

We are also looking at some dates for our Fish Creek field trips in the spring so look out for that information soon.

Don’t miss out on school messages!

Most school messages are sent to parents through SchoolMessenger.  It’s a mass communication tool that allows us to easily and securely send email, phone and text messages to families of students in a particular grade, class, or area.  Messages are sent to the parent email contacts on file at the school.

To ensure you receive important information from our school and the Calgary Board of Education, we ask that you pleaseSubscribe online (if you have not done so already).  This will allow us to send electronic messages on school topics such as student fees, picture days, field trips and fun lunches.

Visit the CBE website at www.cbe.ab.ca , click on the section called ‘Subscribe’, and subscribe today.
