Tuesday

Hello families!

This morning we practiced our weekly words and then spent some time looking at the artifacts from our Museo-Kit we started working with last week. The students had some really interesting guesses for what the items were used for. Please see last Thursday's blog for photos of each artifact. Students used gloves to touch the objects as well. We determined quite a few of the items were used to make butter. During snack, we watched this video about how to make butter.  We also watched this interesting but funny video about school lunches through the decades. We went through half of the items together on the carpet, and then after lunch we looked at the other 9 items in a "museum style." We also had library and guest reader this afternoon! I had some photos to share but my Air Drop doesn't seem to be working today!

1. Nutmeg grater
2. Stainless steel skimmer spoon
3. Soap saver
4. Fruit squeezer
5. Apple parer
6. Metal milk skimmer
7. Wooden flatbread rolling pin
8. Pie plate lifter
9. Round butter press
10.Wooden butter ladle
11. Wooden butter bat
12. Butter spade
13. Pot scraper
14. Mincing knife
15. Metal milk can
16. Wooden butter mould

We read the story, "Food 100 Years Ago," and at the end of the day we had some time to read "Toys 100 Years Ago" and "Clothes 100 Years Ago."

Important info about the Winter Concert! ðŸŽ„⛄
Please note that each family will be given 2 tickets to the Winter Concert. If you are wanting more tickets, you may add your name to the wait list by contacting the office. Due to the size of our gym, our seating is limited and we need to be careful to stay under the maximum capacity. This is also why we have two separate shows! If you have additional family members that would like to come to the concert, attending the day time dress rehearsal show is a great option. The day time shows are at 9:30am (6pm show) and 12:45pm (7:30pm show). Please remember that babies are people too and count towards our capacity, therefore, they will also need a ticket!

Hello parents!

Our Winter Concert is just over a week away!

Students performing in the 6:00 show (rooms 3,5,6,10,11,12 and 16) need to arrive at school at 5:40 pm on Thursday Dec. 12.

Students performing in the 7:30 show (rooms 2,4,7,8,9,13 and 17) need to arrive at school at 7:10 pm on Thursday Dec. 12.

Students in Grades 1-4 can wear what they like to the concert.  No hats/novelty headbands please so we can see everyone’s smiling faces when they are on the stage!

Thank you for your support, the students are excited.
