March 8-11

Hello families!

This week we continued learning about mapping and started looking at the different provinces and territories in Canada. Students were given a book to record their learning. So far we have learned about Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Here are some of the Land Acknowledgements we watched from the different provinces.

We also enjoyed going outside on Tuesday afternoon and mapping our park using natural materials. I won't share photos since students brought home a photo to share during Student-Led Conferences.

This week we focused on "-en" words and we started talking about editing and adjectives. Students used an editing checklist to go back and improve their work. We are working on not erasing our original work, because making mistakes and learning from them is important to us! We watched this video about adjectives and used the checklist to improve my writing. We will continue to work on this skill!

This week we also talked about Fact Families. This is a bit of a tricky concept for students and we will continue to work on it!

Thank you to everyone who attended Student-Led Conferences. Mrs. Rooney and I really enjoyed getting to chat with everyone and celebrating all of the learning we have been doing!
