January 30 - February 2

Hello families,

This week we had to re-visit the idea of Whole-Body Listening with Listening Larry. We connected this to the sacred teaching of respect. If you like this idea and want to follow up with "Whole Body Listening at Home" I will share the story below!

This week we worked on some art for our seven sacred teachings. Stuents chose the teaching they feel most connected to or they feel is most important. They created artwork with water colour and paper and then explained their reasoning for their sacred teaching choice.

In math, we continued working on addition. Students completed a pre-assessment to see how they are able to represent addition in different ways. We are going to be continuing this work for the next little while. Students also created their own February calendar to help them stay on top of our very busy upcoming month!

Students also learned about the 'ng' sound. We did some practice with ng and played some games!

In Science, we began learning about hot and cold temperatures and will continue this learning next week!

This week we also enjoyed learning about Groundhog Day! On Thursday afternoon I was in some team meetings and students enjoyed working with a guest teacher.
