Wednesday

Hi everyone!

Today we practiced our weekly words and created "word goals." This is sort of like a New Year's resolution. We brainstormed character traits that we might want to improve on and students chose one word to focus in on. They wrote about why they chose this work at two action steps they can take to reach their goal.

We also started talking about hot and cold. Students could choose between a cut and paste activity of items that are hot and cold, which they then put into a T-chart, or drawing/writing their own items.

In the afternoon we continued on with our map activity and discussed Northwest Territories. At the very end of the day we watched a Magic School Bus about hot and cold and insulation. We will be starting a task based on these ideas tomorrow! Again, if you have any materials (tin foil, styrofoam, plastic, etc.) that may be helpful in building insulators we would really appreciate them!!

Make sure you check out the AARCS Calgary Facebook page to see a post about our fundraiser in December! 🐈🐶

I also thought I would use my cat, Eli, as the perfect example of how students should be sitting during carpet time. My favourite reaction... "Good one Ms. Midgley.... that's hilarious!"

Please note that there will be no fun lunch this week!
