Monday

Hello families!

This morning we had library - if your child forgot their book we can arrange for them to exchange books another morning this week. We chose Weekly Words from the "-ig" family.

In the afternoon we chatted a little bit about why mindfulness is important and how it can help us get back to the green zone. We watched some videos from Class Dojo about mindfulness and being able to defeat our beasts (big negative or positive feelings we often experience). We also had literacy groups in the afternoon. Students were working on the appropriate use of commas, "ghost" letters and diagraphs, and vowels, depending on their group.

At the end of the day we read a story called "Where Do You Live?" We talked about the different places we live starting from smallest to biggest
1. room
2. home
3. yard
4. street
5. neighbourhood/community
6. town
7. city/suburb/country
8. province
9. country
10. continent

There are more but we didn't finish the whole story!

Arts Commons Field Trip

We are sad to inform you that our field trip to the Arts Commons has been postponed. We had submitted the Arts Commons to be approved as a field trip for LBS and unfortunately it was not approved by the date we expected. We sincerely apologize to all of our wonderful volunteers who had offered to join us on this trip and to all of our students who were very excited about this learning opportunity. We are all very disappointed. Our trip has been rescheduled for May 15th.
Thank you so much for your understanding.
