Thursday

Hello everyone!

Today we continued to talk about International Dot Day and what it means to be creative. We brainstormed lots of ideas of ways we are creative and students did some writing about what personally makes them creative.

This morning we also had our first fire drill. Our class did an AWESOME job! They were calm, responsible and quiet during the drill. I know our fire alarm is very loud and can cause some anxiety, so I do my best to prepare the students and help them feel as comfortable as possible.  We talk a lot about the importance of fire drills and why we shouldn't cover our ears during a fire drill (may not hear instructions/announcements), and how fire drills help us to stay safe.

Yesterday, students were so eager to create dots for Dot Day in whatever way they wanted so, I promised that today they could be as creative as they like with their dots!

Today at lunch there was a meeting for any students who are interested in joining the LBS Card Games Club. Your child may have brought home a form about this!

Please remember that tomorrow is an early dismissal day. Students will be dismissed at 12:15pm. We are looking forward to meeting with our Grade 3/4 buddy class tomorrow for the first time! There will be a few things coming home tomorrow so please remember to send your child with their yellow Communication Folder!
