Wednesday

Hello families,

We had another great day today! We had our first music class with Mrs. Kawchuk and enjoyed gym with Mr. Link's class. Yesterday we read a story called "School's First Day of School" and today students worked in partners to draw and write about what makes a good school. In the afternoon we had "Mindful Minutes," which is a quiet time after lunch to help bring energy levels down. We also went on a school tour and talked about our Classroom Contract (fancy way of discussing classroom rules) and everyone signed the contract. We agreed to..
1. Be kind
2. Be honest
3. Try our best
4. Be safe
5. Have fun!

A large brown envelope came home today that is filled with paper work for you! Please return it at your earliest convenience.

School Spirit Day ðŸ’™
On Friday we will be wearing our school colours! You are invited to wear your LBS t-shirt, if you have one, or blue & white.

Pick up and Drop off ðŸšŒ
You may have noticed that our school gets pretty busy in the morning and after school. 120th ave is a very busy place as we have many busses and parents dropping off and picking up students. A great alternative is to arrange your pick up and drop off on the south side of the school on Lake Sylvan Drive. Your child can then walk across the field to the east doors. Just an option!

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT FRIDAYS ARE EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS. SCHOOL WILL END AT 12:15PM. Students will still need some snacks on Fridays. We will likely have 2 snack breaks.

Allergies ðŸ¥œ
We have already started celebrating birthdays in our class! Some families like to send a treat for the class to enjoy which is fine by me. Please be careful not to send any treats that contain peanuts or tree nuts as we do have a severe tree nut allergy in our class. If your child has any allergies or dietary restrictions that you have not shared, please let me know ASAP!

Upcoming Dates ðŸ—“
Friday, September 20th - PD Day - No school for students
Thursday, September 26th - Welcome Back Family BBQ
