Monday

Hello families!

This morning we had a great time learning how to do wet art felting. Thanks so much to the volunteers who were able to join us. Here are some photos of the process we went through to make wet art felt Christmas ornaments.

Art took up most of our morning, and with the remaining time, we worked as a class to brainstorm words from the "-ip" family and students chose 5-8 words. I asked them to use their best writing and to pay attention to their "sky, grass, dirt letters" so you are able to read them at home!

In the afternoon we had Mindful Minutes, did our classroom jobs and had Guest Reader. In gym, we played "Cheese Movers," and at the end of the day, students went to music.

Here is the schedule for Guest Reader in December! Guest Reader is not mandatory so if your child is not on the schedule, they decided to opt out for December. I also shared it on Seesaw to make sure everyone got it.

Tomorrow we will be having library in the afternoon! Make sure to send your books back if you haven't already!

Sight Word Practice
I spoke to some families about practicing sight words at home. Here is a link to the "Dolch Sight Words." (Don't worry too much about the grade level - the Kinder words are even a little tricky!) Here is a link to some fun ways you could learn sight words at home! You can find tons of ideas online!

Card Club
Please note that Card Club has been cancelled for the time being. Mr. Link intends on starting it back up sometime in the New Year.
