Wednesday

Hi families!

This morning we started talking about Venn Diagrams. We did one together as a class to compare me to Mrs. Ireland. We also did one more practice for the lockdown with just our class. Students then had music and then gym. During work period, students practiced their "-ig" words and worked with a partner to make a Venn Diagram comparing independence at home and at school. In the afternoon we had mindful minutes and then our lockdown drill. Students did a pretty good job during the drill - there was a little bit of whispering going on but overall they did a great job sitting quietly for 25 minutes! We then had daily 5 literacy and guest reader after recess. We've been doing "secret spot" in the classroom - just thought I'd clarify in case you're confused. I choose something that needs to be put away or cleaned up and the students try to figure out what I picked while I quietly observe to see who figures it out. Recently, the person who finds the secret spot gets to choose a Go Noodle activity to do at the end of the day. I've never seen such great cleaning!

We now have enough volunteers for art felting on the 25th. I even recruited my own mom to help out! The forms for this will be coming home soon.

Food Drive
The current food drive organized by the Grade 6 Students In Action Club has already been a great success so far.  The LBS community has showing how generous they are and have brought in a large amount of items to be donated and that will surely make a big difference in peoples' lives.  We are continuing to collect items until this Friday, November 15th, so please do your best to help the Students In Action Club reach their goal of collecting 500 items!

Volunteers Needed for Book Fair

We are still in need of volunteers for our upcoming book fair.

We are pleased to be offering a book fair again this year over Parent Teacher Conferences. We are looking for parent volunteers who would be interested in helping set up the book fair, as well as some parents to help with the book fair while it is running.

If you are able to volunteer during any of the time slots below we would greatly appreciate it! Please email Pam Green with the time and day you are available to help at pngreen@cbe.ab.ca
